Bruins Head To Utah In Search Of Elusive Road Win

Written by

Jamabo S SUFor the fifth time this season, UCLA (4-4, 2-3) and the eighth time going back to last season, are looking for that elusive road win. A desperate Utah (4-4, 1-4), losers of four straight are just as hungry for a win. A bowl appearance lays in the balance.

Both teams have been hit by the injury bug and are trying to find a way to right the ship.

The Bruins are having a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde type of season. At home they make the plays needed to win and on the road, they don’t. It is that simple.

To add drama to the tale, it’s not clear if starting quarterback Josh Rosen will be ready to go and if not, redshirt freshman, Devon Modster, will get his first start.

The Utes will be having their annual blackout game, so can expect a reed up sold-out Rice-Eccles Stadium, that holds 45,807 fans, wearing all black, joining the Ute football team that will also be wearing black.

Both teams have been struggling to stop the run and the team that does the best job playing defense will likely be the winner. Both teams need this win if they are to make a bowl game. If the Bruins fail to make it to a bowl game it make two seasons in a row. Utah has played in a bowl four straight years.

Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30 PM PST and will be televised onFox Sports 1 with Chris Myers doing the play-by-play and Ben Leber analyzing the action.

UCLA Sports Network from IMG College will broadcast the game on either AM 1150/AM 570 along your radio dial. Josh Lewin will handle the play-by-play, Matt Stevens will analyze the play and Wayne Cook will report from the sideline.
