LOS ANGELES – Jon Olsen threw 5.2 innings with nine strikeouts and Chase Strumpf hit a solo home run as the UCLA baseball team fell to USC, 4-3 in 10 innings, on Sunday from Dodger Stadium in the final game of the Dodger Stadium College Baseball Classic.

The Trojans scored the game-winning run in the top of the 10th inning as Lars Nootbaar drove in his third run of the game with a double to right field.

USC tied the game at 3-3 with a three-run sixth inning. Nootbaar hit a two-out triple off the right field wall to score two Trojans, followed by Matthew Acosta hitting a RBI-single to center field.

UCLA scored the first three runs of the game started by Strumpf in the second inning with a solo home run that sailed over the left-field fence just inside the foul pole.

The Bruins pushed the lead to 3-0 as Daniel Amaral scored on a USC error in the third inning followed by Kyle Cuellar hitting a sacrifice fly to center field in the fourth inning to plate Brett Stephens, who led off the inning with a double.

USC's Chris Clarke (1-0) earned the win tossing 5.2 scoreless innings out of the bullpen allowing just one hit with five strikeouts. Soloman Bates recorded his first save of the season with a perfect 10th inning.

Olsen started for the Bruins and tossed 5.2 innings, allowing three runs on three hits with nine strikeouts. Scott Burke (0-1) suffered the loss throwing the final 2.0 innings allowing one unearned run on one hit with four punch outs.

The Bruins return to Jackie Robinson Stadium on Tuesday when they host CSUN for a midweek contest starting at 6 p.m. (PT).
